HAPPY NEW YEAR!

happy new year to all our friends and family!
Cant believe 2007 is with us already and it certainly feels like a year of change!
Many of our friends are moving or have moved away, lots of the girls are expecting their first babies, people are starting new jobs and moving home and we are trying to do all of the above (minus the baby bit!!! - Sorry Simon's mum!)
We hope to put our flat on the market at the begining of February and Si is starting to actively look for a new job. He has considered being a posty so he can have afternoons free to cycle - which is his main focus for this year (and no doubt the years to come!) He is feeling more and more that his identity is defined by what he does on the bike rather than what his job description is. Friends have enabled him to really analyse this point and as a result he wants to put 100% into training, racing and buying the best equipment to help him move up a category in his class. I want to support him in this and stand by him in whatever it is that God has for him, it is his time to step up to the plate so 'Come On Mearsy!'
We are still processing the idea to maybe move to the Yorkshire Dales as a more appropriate place for Simon to race/train with his need for BIG climbs, coupled with the opportunity for me to work in one of Leeds city hospitals (hopefully Jimmy's!!!) which is cutting edge for research and care delivery, something I would love to get more involved with. Not to mention the outstanding natural beauty of the North and biker friendly roads, pubs and people. We need a change.
We are visiting the Dales with the Hanson family for support and an objective view, and a lovely holiday! And I am off to Leeds with a friend to check out the city/hospitals/designer shops etc which I am very exited about.
It feels like things could either move quickly, or may not transpire at all so we are trying to be open minded but with a plan in mind. First things first, we will put the house on tha market and Si will apply for jobs then go from there, so please keep us in mind when you pray and we will keep you updated. Maybe one day I will be blogging from up t' North you never know!

Hey Josie (and Si)
Good to read all your latest news, and really excited to hear that you're making real (if very scary) steps towards moving into all that God has planned for you both.
Hope you have a really special and insightful time up-North on both your trips - we'll be praying for you.
We love you loads,
A&A
